To increase audience confidence & comfort, all of the shows in the Performing Arts Trail Series will be capped at 50% capacity (360 people) guaranteed, even if capacity restrictions are lifted. Reserved seating and automatic physical distancing. Seats on either side of your selected group seats are blocked off and will not be sold. However seats immediately in front or behind your selected seats will not be blocked and will be sold.

Red Sky’s Trace, is created and produced by Red Sky Performance and features seven dancers. “We are traceable to the very beginnings of the universe, our ancestral origins stretching across the Milky Way to the atoms burning inside of us in the ‘here and now’ on earth. Trace is a highly kinetic contemporary dance work inspired by Indigenous (Anishinaabe) sky and star stories, offering a glimpse into our origin as well as our future evolution.”

The show is created and produced by Red Sky Performance and was brought to life with direction/concept by Sandra Laronde, choreography by Jera Wolfe, music by Eliot Britton, visuals by Marcella Grimaux, lighting design by Alexis Bowles, and costume design by Kinoo Arcentales.

Red Sky Performance is a leading company of contemporary Indigenous performance in Canada and worldwide. Led by Artistic Director Sandra Laronde of the Teme-Augama-Anishinaabe (People of the Deep Water), they are currently in their 18th year of dance, theatre, music, and media. Their mission is to create, produce, and disseminate inspiring experiences of contemporary Indigenous arts and culture that illuminate themes, aesthetics, and values of importance to Indigenous peoples.Touring since 2003, they have delivered over 2,253 performances in 17 countries including landmark events such as the Cultural Olympiads (Beijing and Vancouver), opening of Canada at World Expo in Shanghai, and opening ‘UNCEDED: Voices of the Land at the Venice Biennale’. They are recipients of eight Dora Mavor Moore awards and nominations, two Canadian Aboriginal Music Awards, three International Youth Drama Awards from Shenzhen, China, and the Smithsonian Expressive Award, among other recognitions.

60 minutes with no intermission followed by 15 min talkback session with the artists. Doors open one hour before show time to accommodate scanning of vaccination certificates.

COVID Protocols
•All attendees 12 years of age or older must present their BC or Federal Vaccine Certificate showing TWO doses of a COVID19 vaccination AND government photo identification. Ticketholders, who are unable to comply, cannot attend and should contact our Box Office for a refund.
•To increase audience comfort,all Performing Arts Trail 2022 shows are capped at 360 audience members (50% of venue capacity). Even if provincial restrictions are lifted, audience size will stay at 50% capacity (360 people) guaranteed.
•Masks must be worn at all times.
•COVID protocols are subject to change depending on the COVID Climate and BC Provincial Health Orders.
•Doors open 60 minutes prior to show time to allow time to scan passports.
