Meet Francesco Mantini, a second-generation Italian teen struggling to find his place in Jasper, Alberta. Tired of living up to his traditional Italian-immigrant father’s expectations and the constant bullying from his Canadian peers, he takes inspiration from icons Rocky Balboa and John Travolta, and reinvents himself as Frank Martin: crooner and ladies’ man.
Weaving the electrifying music of the 1970s with classic Italian tunes, this five-time Jessie Award-nominated show is equal parts comedy, music, and heart as father and son find themselves despite their differences. A one-man show that is as buoyant and bubbly as a glass of prosecco, Made in Italy is so delightful you won’t soon fuhgeddaboudit.
Mature theme and strong language.
“…the show is consistently funny…more physical routines than the Cirque du Soleil” —Vancouver Sun
“A coming-of-age musical that offers myriad laughs” —Surrey Now-Leader
“Full of big laughs and funny storytelling” —Stir
