The Jazz at the Griff series brings you A Jolly Holiday with Nadine and Erik. Due to overwhelming demand, we have added a second AND third show! Enjoy the jazz club vibe as you savour a glass of wine in a setting that is up close and personal with the band.
A Jolly Holiday is a lively and uplifting set of jazz and show tunes with a sprinkle of Christmas dust on top. Take a journey with Erik Mortimer and Nadine Tremblay as this quartet play some piano solos and perform songs from 1940’s onward that are meant to entertain. Playing all covers, they will dazzle you with songs made famous by Peggy Lee, Amy Winehouse, Coco Love Alcorn, Ella, Bing and more. Erik & Nadine will be support by Dale Green on bass & Ness Benamran on drums. Special vocal appearances by Lise Levesque and Juliana Marko.
Erik Mortimer is a Grant MacEwan music grad and a student of jazz music who grew up in Rossland. He is a current member of “Off-Book: The Improvised Musical” with Rapid Fire. When he’s not operating sans score, he works as a composer, music director, and side musician and educator. He loves switching it up and has been privileged to work with some of Edmonton’s finest artists and theatre companies including the Citadel Theatre, Theatre Network, Teatro la Quindicina, Fort Edmonton Park, Plain Janes and Alberta Opera.
Nadine Tremblay has a degree in opera, a certificate in musical theatre (Canadian College of Performing Arts), and has written the music to 6 original musicals with Iron Mountain Theatre including ‘Company Jump’ and ‘Ski Bum: The Musical.’ More recently Nadine has co-written 3 full length albums with Rupert Keiller under the pen name ‘Sexton Blake.’ When she is not creating, Tremblay spends the rest of her time as Artistic Director of the Charles Bailey Theatre in Trail and teaching musical theatre to children through Triple Threat Productions.
