Trail & District Arts Council and The Royal Theatre present
Ferris Bueller’s Day Off
at the Silver Screen Drive-In
$12/person – Maximum 6 people per car as per Provincial Health Orders
Parents and grandparents! Get nostalgic and bring the kids to an iconic film from your youth, as the Silver Screen Drive-in presents “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” on Friday, July 9 at 9:30 pm! As Ferris says, “Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.” Don’t miss this show!
Ferris Bueller has an uncanny skill at cutting classes and getting away with it, developing an incredibly sophisticated plan to pull it off. In a last ditch before grad, Ferris calls in sick, “borrows” a Ferrari from his friend Cameron’s dad, and embarks on a one-day journey through the streets of Chicago with his girlfriend Sloane and Cameron. On Ferris’ trail is high school principal Rooney, determined to catch Ferris faking, and Ferris’ angry sister Jeannie. But they are both hampered by the school kids that rally round the “sick” Ferris, and each other. So, sing along at the parade, make pretentious faces at art, and generally have fun. As Ferris says, “It’s a little childish and stupid, but then, so is high school.”
“Drenched in Eighties-style teen spirit.” – Marjorie Baumgarten, Austin Chronicle. “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off is, by all means, an irresistibly charming ode to youthful energy and exuberance.” – Shikhar Verma, High on Films
