SHOW DESCRIPTION
Hailing from Castlegar, Lisa Nicole’s story-driven lyrics are fused with a modern country sound and a
carefree stage presence. Singing from an early age Lisa Nicole has several BCCMA nominations. She also
won the Music BC Artist Development Project, which included a Nashville songwriting trip, and a once-
in-a-lifetime impromptu on-stage performance with Keith Urban! With her new 2020 singles “Wait on
Me” and “Do Your Thang”, and upcoming album “Where the Wild Hearts Beat”, produced by Jeff
Johnson, Lisa Nicole has entered the next verse of her musical journey defined by a sharp commercial
edge that maintains her pristine country ways.
Opening for Lisa are Son of John, a father and son country/roots duo based out of the interior of British
Columbia. With songs that cut to the heart, Javan and Johnny P. Johnson blend two generations of
country music, combining storytelling and soulful vocal harmonies with their unique acoustic sound.
With unique mandolin and fiddle licks they deliver original songs about love and the simplicities and
complexities of life that are both old and new country. With a flair for folk and roots, these two
songwriters create a sound that is uniquely Son of John. 2019 Gaylord Wood Traditional Roots Country
BCCMA Nominee and 2018 and 2019 BCCMA Fiddle Player of the Year Nominee.
Our Six Beats Apart Series is partially sponsored by the Columbia Basin Trust and Kootenay Savings Credit Union. Our programming is made possible thanks to funding from the Government of British Columbia, BC Arts Council, BC Touring Council, Creative BC and Canadian Heritage.
