Twin Rivers Choir open before My Son the Hurricane – Music in the Park

June 29, 2023 @ 6:15 pm - 8:00 pm

Trail and District Arts Council presents Kootenay Savings Music in the Park featuring My Son the Hurricane with opening act Twin Rivers Choir on Thursday June 29 at 6:15 pm at Gyro Park, Trail.

The Trail & District Arts Council is very excited to get the community back together this Summer at Gyro Park for Music in The Park. With eleven shows and two acts per night, from June 22 to August 31, it’s the perfect opportunity for all the family to get together outside and listen to great live music.

This season we have a great mix of music from local favourites to touring talent!

On June 29 the Twin Rivers Community Choir perform classical, pop, Broadway, jazz, world music and more. Followed by the return of My Son the Hurricane, the 11-piece multi-horn, multi-drummer, multi-singer brass funk beast!
The Twin Rivers Community Choir was created in 2010 in Castlegar, B.C., formed from a group of enthusiastic singers from all backgrounds and abilities. Their repertoire ranges widely from classical to pop to Broadway, jazz, world music and more.

My Son the Hurricane has toured over multiple countries and played some of Canada, USA and Europe’s biggest festivals with over 45 sold out shows in 2022. In 2023, the band will take on an over 70 date Canada, United States and Europe-wide tour and share the stage with acts like Foo Fighters, Jason Isbell and Colin James. The band features trumpets, saxophones, trombones, drums, guitar, keys, percussion, and a wild front woman…we dare you not to dance! Watch them live at https://youtu.be/cztm8r1PRjU.

Bring a lawn chair. Admission is by donation – $3 minimum suggested. Or support the Trail Arts Council’s programming by buying a Season Pass for the whole summer for $50! Passes will be available soon.

As part of Music in the Park 2023 we will once again be collaborating with Trail’s Incredible Farmers Market. Our two Night Markets on July 20 and August 17 are awesome events that bring the community together with Music, Food, Beer Garden and Farmers Market. So much fun in Gyro Park.

This show is made possible thanks to support from Kootenay Savings Credit Union, Teck Trail Operations, Columbia Basin Trust, BC Arts Council, BC Touring Council, the Government of Canada, Tourism South Kootenay, Pharmasave Trail and our media partner Bounce Radio. We also gratefully acknowledge the financial support of the Province of British Columbia.
