Tomorrow, Thursday, July 25 in Gyro Park, opening the night is Steve Marc bringing you dancy reggae/calypso grooves and uplifting/healing vibes with a mission to bring out your inner peace and spread it throughout the region and beyond.

Steve Marc is an upbeat and uplifting calypso/reggae band with hints of funk and grooves you can’t help but move to. Featuring a small but mighty horn section and luscious harmony background vocalists, Steve’s unique songwriting prowess will move you in more ways than one. This six piece band brings fun, love and energy to the stage with creative arrangements of cover songs known and unknown, mixed in with mostly original songs you will surely come to love.

Headlining the night is Melody Diachun and the Swing Bastards.

Bring a lawn chair. Admission is by donation - $3 minimum suggested.
Event 6:15-8pm.

This Thursday, July 25 in Gyro Park, come get your dance on as Melody and The Swing Bastards bring their special blend of R&B, Funk, Jive and Blues to Kootenay Savings Music in the Park.

Celebrated Canadian vocalist MELODY DIACHUN, known for her innovative and soulful expression, has reached new heights winning the Jazz Artist of the Year award at the 2023 Western Canadian Music Awards. With a nomination for a JUNO for "Contemporary Jazz Album of the Year"in 2008 and a National Jazz Award nomination for Vocalist of the Year and five albums as leader, Melody is “a force to reckon with in contemporary vocal music.” (Toronto Music Report)

Melody's group features Doug Stephenson on guitar, Tony Ferraro on drums, Mark Spielman on bass and, back by popular demand, saxophonist Clinton Swanson.

Entry by donation. Event 6:15-8pm.

This Thursday, July 25 at Kootenay Savings Music in the Park from 6:15 pm to 8 pm we have a local double bill!

Headlining are Melody and the Swing Bastards with a special blend of R&B, Funk, Jive and Blues and an all star line-up of Melody Diachun, Doug Stephenson on guitar, Tony Ferraro on drums, Mark Spielman on bass, and Clinton Swanson on saxophone.

Opening the night is Steve Marc and his band bringing you dancy reggae/calypso grooves and uplifting/healing vibes.

Bring a lawn chair. Admission is by donation - $3 minimum suggested. Or buy a Season Pass for the whole summer for $30!

Shows are moved indoors if the weather/smoke is not cooperative.

Trail and District Arts Council, Triple Threat Exp

Trail and District Arts Council, Triple Threat Experience & STEPS Dance Centre present Road Dahl's Matilda the Musical JR at The Bailey Theatre, Trail with three shows - Saturday July 20 at 3 pm and 7 pm, Sunday July 21 at 3 pm.

Please note: We are reaching out this afternoon to let you all know that the building’s air conditioning has been malfunctioning this week due to extreme heat. We want to prepare you for the higher temperatures you can expect at the Bailey Theatre this weekend for the Matilda Jr. show.

> When you come for the show(s), bring an ice pack, a cold drink, maybe a fan, or anything else you need to keep cool. We are doing everything in our power to decrease the temperature in the space by placing electric fans and ice-filled-coolers around the building and theatre. It is our priority to keep everyone safe while enabling the show to go on.

> Keep in mind the show is approximately 65 minutes long and we may break the show up into 2 halves to give the cast a break.
>
> We deeply apologize for this inconvenience. Further, we understand if this heat is intolerable and refunds are available.
