Jörgen Dance put a unique spin on Shakespeare's comedy of emotional misunderstandings by setting it in Northern Canada’s woodland and tundra landscapes and featuring creatures of the forest such as moose, beavers, bears, and squirrels.

As four Athenians get mixed up in love and lost in a forest, the mischievous fairy trickster Puck dupes mortals and fairies alike for a show filled with humour and fun!

Tomorrow, Tues.Jan.27 one show only, at 7:30 pm at Tomorrow, Tues.Jan.27 one show only, at 7:30 pm at The Bailey in Trail @thefretless with @madeleineroger!

Since forming in 2011 in Toronto, The Fretless has toured extensively around the world — playing small spaces to prestigious stages such as the Cologne Philharmonic, Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra Hall, Shetland Folk Festival, Festival Internacional Cervantino, and two sold-out shows at Celtic Connections.

In Canada, they've captivated audiences at the Winnipeg Folk Festival, Small Halls, Hillside Festival, and Mariposa Folk Festival. They also had the honour of sharing the bill with legendary Canadian fiddler Natalie MacMaster for Canada Scene at the National Arts Centre.

"You can feel the live audience leaning forward, reflecting the lilting energy of the modern-flavoured percussive chopping and the timeless jig and reel drive back to the Fretless, who give it directly back to their audience. It's almost as if they know they're transporting each listener to a back porch, dance hall, or barn party with every bow stroke." — The Bluegrass Situation

Madeleine Roger is an award-winning singer-songwriter from Winnipeg, whose breathtaking melodies linger long after they are sung.

She is a regular collaborator with JUNO award winning string quartet The Fretless, appearing with them in performances and on recordings as a vocalist and co-writer.

She has toured extensively around the world, sharing her music at the Winnipeg Folk Festival (MB), Shetland Island Folk Festival (UK), Vancouver Island Music Festival (BC), Wintergrass Music Festival (US), Dawson City Music Festival (YT) among many others.
