Back to the Future

September 18, 2021 @ 8:00 pm - 9:56 pm

Trail & District Arts Council and The Royal Theatre present Back to the Future at the Silver Screen Drive-In.

The 1980s sci-fi classic, “Back to the Future” takes us back in time. A rousing time-travel adventure with an unforgettable spirit, “Back to the Future” sees 17-year-old high school student Marty McFly time-travel back thirty years into the past and almost unravel his own future.

Marty is a typical American teenager of the Eighties, except that his best friend is an aging mad scientist who accidentally sends him back to 1955 in a plutonium-powered DeLorean “time machine”. Finding himself mixed up in a time-altering chain reaction that could vaporize his future, Marty must make certain his teenage parents-to-be meet and fall in love or he’ll cease to exist— and leave him trapped in the past. Powered by innovative special effects, unforgettable songs and non-stop action, “Back to the Future” is an unrivaled adventure that stands the test of time! Rated 96 % by Rotten Tomatoes.

“For all its comedy, Back to the Future is about a kid coming to terms with his parents’ inadequacies, a moment familiar to everyone,…” – Paul Attanasio, Washington Post

“Equal parts hilarity, nostalgia, science fiction, screwball comedy, and white-knuckle suspense in a complex storyline wound tighter than a yo-yo in a centrifuge.’ -Steven D. Greydanus, Decent Films Guide

“Shows not only a fine comic touch but also some of the lighthearted humanism of a Frank Capra.” – Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times
