Rick Lingard Quartet

The Rick Lingard Quartet, features Rick Lingard as lead vocalist and saxophonist, Mike Rud on guitar, Tony Ferraro on drums, and Doug Stephenson on bass.

Previously the music director at Mt. Sentinel Secondary School, and an instructor at Selkirk, Rick Lingard now owns the Kootenay Music Academy (KMA) – a private music school offering music instruction as well as recording arts. Rick’s past bands include No Excuse, The Atlantics, Playmor Junction Big Band, Hornography and What It Is. Rick has assembled orchestras and directed the music for many musicals.

Mike Rud is a jazz guitarist, songwriter and Juno award-winner for his album “Notes on Montreal”, who has played with current jazz greats Peter Bernstein, Kenny Wheeler, Herb Ellis and Joey DeFrancesco. Rud has a master’s degree from McGill and studied privately in New York City with Jim Hall. He has taught at McGill, Western Washington, and Carleton universities, and is a music instructor at Selkirk College.

Tony Ferraro is a diverse, musical drummer who was Percussionist of the Year at Humber College in Toronto. He has played with Juno Award winning Idle Eyes, Classic Canadian rockers Trooper, The Spoons, Alpha Ya Ya Diallo, Elizabeth Shepherd, Michael Occhipinti, Melody Diachun, and Argentinian pianist Gabriel Palatchi. Tony’s passionate and intense performances are exciting to both hear and to watch.

Doug Stephenson has been an integral member of Western Canada’s music community for over thirty years. The Calgary native is a guitarist, bassist, songwriter, and producer who has performed with a wide range of artists including Charlie Rouse, Bob Murphy, Les McCann, Jay Thomas, John Stowell, Tommy Banks, P.J. Perry, Altered Laws, Barry Romberg, Bob Brough, Campbell Ryga, and Blues legend Big Miller.

A 4-show pass is $68 and single tickets are $22. 2022 Jazz Series includes: Fractal Jazz Quintet, Melody Diachun Quartet, Laura Landsberg Quartet, Rick Lingard Quintet

Tickets can be purchased online or by phone (250-368-9669). Or visit our Box Office during our regular hours Monday to Friday 12-4 pm. Ticket can be picked up in advance at the box office, or at the door on show night. Groups of 4 can reserve a table through the Box Office. Licensed event.

•All attendees must present their BC or Federal Vaccine Certificate showing TWO doses of a COVID19 vaccination AND government photo identification. Ticketholders, who are unable to comply, cannot attend and should contact our Box Office for a refund.
•To increase audience comfort, all 2022 Jazz shows are capped at 50 audience members. Even if provincial restrictions are lifted, audience size will stay at 50 people guaranteed.
•As of March 11th, masks are recommended but are no longer mandatory.
•COVID protocols are subject to change depending on the COVID Climate and BC Provincial Health Orders.
•Doors open 30 minutes prior to show time to allow time to scan passports.
